yourself … Great peacemakers are all people of integrity, of honesty, but
humility.”

About The Book:
In this book Life’s Amazing Secrets author compares our life
with a car, in a car, there are four wheels and a steering wheel. The wheel
represents our personal life, relationship, work-life, social contribution and
the steering wheel represents our spiritual practice. Keeping balance in all
situations is of utmost importance as it takes you to happiness and
completeness that’s what the author says in this book “Happiness does not come
automatically”. We have to choose to live happily, we have to choose to live
with integrity and we also have to choose to live with balance.
In the book Life’s Amazing Secrets author wants us to grow
through gratitude which means one should have the quality of been thankful,
readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness. According to the
author, we should not worry much, why should we worry?. Do we have a problem in
life? If yes what can we do to solve the problem and suppose we don’t have any
solution then also why worry? Where we cannot do anything about the problem. On
the other hand, if you do not have a problem then also why worry? . there are
few ways to start gratitude are to recognize the good that has been done to us
and say “thank you”, to remember the good and mean it and to reciprocate
through actions of giving back and live by the same values.
We all should do some kind of spiritual practice according
to the author, there are many ways to connect to god, but the author says one of
the most effective method that has worked for really well for the author is
Mantra Meditation.
The author also tells us to do the selfless sacrifice which
means a decision to give up something you want or need so that others can have
what they want or need.
In a relationship, we must be sensitive to our words and
actions. Sensitive means to think about how the other person may feel before we
say or do something. How do we practice being sensitive? The answer is clear we
must treat even inanimate objects with consideration and respect.
Self Discovery – we should understand ourselves to know what
is meaningful to us, and what we want to devote our time to. This can be done
by understanding our purpose, which takes dedication and patience. Discovering
our purpose is exciting, just as opening a gift gives the feeling of
anticipation and joy. Reaching our purpose in life is a journey, not an event.
The Japanese have a model called ikigai or a “reason to live”, which is
composed of four traits we need to understand, what do we love? What are we
good at? What does the world need? And what can we be paid for?
Integrity and character – Good character has the ability to
change lives. It has to do with our actions, not our word. The principal of
developing a good character is vichaar, Aachaar, Prachaar. What great men do, a common man follows.
Conclusion:
So whether you are looking at strengthening your
relationship, discovering your true potential, understanding how to do well at
work or even how you can give back the world we must read this book.
